A workplace to be proud of

The satisfaction of our employees is a high priority at Saubermacher. That is why we conduct an anonymous employee survey every year to systematically record opinions, needs and potential for improvement. The results provide us with valuable insights into cooperation, leadership and the working environment. They form an important basis for deriving targeted measures and further developing Saubermacher as an attractive and reliable employer.

Our Culture at Saubermacher

It’s important to us that our Saubermacher employees feel comfortable at work, are motivated, and find a professional home. These values are at the heart of Saubermacher’s culture:

One of the things that makes Saubermacher so successful is our employees. They develop solutions, drive innovation, and ensure every day that our work contributes to an environment worth living in. In regular employee reviews, we plan the next steps for development together. Through town hall meetings and roadshows, our leadership team fosters a sense of presence and transparency. A warm and supportive atmosphere in our day-to-day work is especially important to us.

We know that success is achieved together. That’s why we foster a culture of respect, recognition, and open feedback. There’s room for both praise and criticism – constructive and on an equal footing. A positive culture of error acceptance is just as much a part of this. For us, appreciation isn’t just a buzzword – it’s a principle we live by. Because that’s the only way we grow – as a team and as a company. This becomes clear during our annual employee reviews. We also place great value on our team’s involvement in improvement processes and reward the best ideas within the company.

At Saubermacher, we understand diversity as diversity in action, which enriches our day-to-day business and strengthens our long-term success. Our team includes people from 44 countries, and about 20% of our employees are foreign nationals (as of March 2026). Different perspectives and experiences are therefore a natural part of our culture. For us, diversity also means accessibility: Our online training courses, the intranet, and our ethics and compliance documents are available in multiple languages so that all employees have the same access to information and opportunities for professional development. At the same time, we specifically support women who wish to take on leadership roles in the waste and circular economy and encourage them to realize their full potential. Currently, women make up 27 percent of the company’s workforce, and among salaried employees, the figure is as high as 61 percent (as of April 2026). Work-life balance also plays an important role here.

Saubermacher is a family-owned business—and a business for families. Whether you work full-time or part-time, are a parent, care for family members, or are transitioning into retirement: We recognize you and your personal life circumstances. You can find all the information about our work-life balance initiatives here:

Benefits at Saubermacher

Folder Family and Career (DE)

For over 45 years, we’ve acted with a sense of responsibility to leave our children and grandchildren an environment worth living in. With our business model, we pursue the “Zero Waste” vision as our long-term guiding principle. By this, we mean avoiding waste as much as possible, closing material cycles to the greatest extent possible, and processing materials to the highest possible standard before returning them to the cycle. In this way, we can help conserve raw materials and reduce our environmental impact.
